The NBA All-Star Game is one of the most exciting events in the world of sports. It brings together some of the greatest players in the league. Some of the superstars who will be present in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game include Russell Westbrook, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and LeBron James.
LeBron James
LeBron James has been selected to lead the Western Conference in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. He will be captain for the sixth straight year and the 19th time overall.
LeBron James is one of the most popular players in the NBA and he has a dynasty behind him. This season, he is averaging 29.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. As a result, he is on track to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record.
If LeBron James plays at his career average of 29.9 points per game, he will pass Abdul-Jabbar’s record in the first week of February. The three-time league MVP is on track to break the all-time scoring record in his 20th year in the NBA.
James’ teammates will include Nikola Jokic of Denver, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. In the Western Conference, Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant will round out the roster.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo is set to make his third All-Star game and captain his team. The Eastern Conference’s top vote-getter, Antetokounmpo will be joined by Jayson Tatum, Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Durant.
He has also become the league’s top scorer, averaging 33.8 points a game. His fellow starters are Luka Doncic of Dallas and Nikola Jokic of Denver.
James has also been a team captain and has been a part of six All-Star games, which is tied with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He will have to choose his team before the All-Star Game, which means he will be drafting a new group of players to go with him.
Antetokounmpo is averaging a career-high 31 points a game, 5.3 assists and 12.3 rebounds a game, and he is one of the best defensive players in the NBA. He has 17 games with 30+ points and 10+ rebounds and has scored 40+ points eight times.
Russell Westbrook
The next NBA All-Star Game is scheduled for February 19 in Salt Lake City. It is the 72nd edition of the event, and will feature a three-point contest and the NBA HBCU Classic. Several other events have yet to be announced.
While the rosters haven’t been announced, fans have been voting for starters and dark-horse candidates on the league’s website and app. Fans have been able to vote for rosters through January 21, and starting positions will be revealed on Tuesday, January 26.
LeBron James is expected to make the All-Star Game, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant are also considered. Each conference will select three players to start, and two players to start in the backcourt.
Westbrook is a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, and has won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award the past two years. He is expected to earn an All-Star selection in 2023.
Jayson Tatum
Jayson Tatum has been selected as an All-Star starter in the East for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. He joins Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo as starting players in the Eastern Conference. The NBA All-Star Game will be held in Salt Lake City on February 19th.
Tatum’s performance this season has earned him a spot on the Eastern Conference All-Stars. His averages of 31.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game have been very impressive. This year, he’s also shooting 46.8 percent from the floor and 35.3 percent from three-point range.
Tatum has already been a part of the Skills Challenge. In addition, he’s led the Celtics in scoring and rebounding this season. He’s averaging career highs in both of those categories.
Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners will host the 2023 NBA All-Star Game in Seattle on February 19. It’s the third time in franchise history that the team has hosted an All-Star Game. This one will feature the top players from the American League and the National League.
Seattle’s last Midsummer Classic was held in 1979. This year’s will take place in the city’s new home, T-Mobile Park.
In the past, the Mariners have been known to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Last year, the team did so with rookie Evan White taking home the first base award. But he’s not the only rookie on the team. Another rookie, J. P. Crawford, has already earned the 2020 Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
The aforementioned All-Star Game has been a low-scoring affair in recent years. However, it will be a great chance to check out some of the hottest players in the game. The 93rd Midsummer Classic will include a Futures Game, which will feature a number of players.
